Peri- and postoperative complications in Le Fort I osteotomies

This retrospective study was performed to report the peri- and postoperative complications encountered by patients who underwent Le Fort I osteotomy, as well predictor variables affecting risk of complications. Patients only osteotomy were included in study. Information on collected from patient data records. The effects certain complication rates also studied. Twenty-four per cent suffered complications, six (6.1%) whom reoperated. Most minor transient. Compared with one-piece segmental a significant factor predisposing (p = 0.04619). Additionally, use patient-specific implants seemed increase both perioperative 0.0248). Currently, conventional plate fixation method is primary osteotomies. Careful selection, surgical planning, selection technique seem be most important factors reducing risk. Special attention should paid surgery.
